Mothers and Others Brunch…

This brunch has become a beloved tradition for ladies at In Focus Church. A time of fellowship, a delicious catered meal and an encouraging devotion awaits you!

When: Saturday, May 12, 10:30am until Noon

Where: In Focus Church

Who: All ladies welcome…First grade to 100 years old! (School age girls must be accompanied by their mother. Please keep in mind that if you choose to bring your school age daughter, she needs to be able to sit respectfully through the entire event. CHILDREN YOUNGER THAN FIRST GRADE are not allowed at this event.)

The brunch menu is catered by ‘Very Vera’ and is as follows:

Four Cheese Quiche with Assorted Toppings

Cheddar Cheese & Chive Biscuits with Shaved Ham

Fruit Salad

Citrus Blueberry Pound Cake

Soft Drinks and Water

The Big Giveaways

We want to congratulate our big winners from this past Sunday’s giveaways. During the course of the “Once Upon A Marriage” series we have been giving away gifts to “practically” help you do what we have been teaching about. Not only are we encouraging you to invest in your marriages through what we are saying on Sundays, but we are practically helping you to do so. This week we awarded two married couples some get-away trips that will hopefully prove to be timely investments into their marriages.

So we want to congratulate John and Rebecca Lisi who won the overnight getaway to The Partridge Inn. They will also be able to enjoy breakfast for two, and complimentary truffles while they are their. We also want to congratulate John and Jessica Hart who won the two night getaway to the Chilhowee Mountain Retreat in the Great Smoky Mountains. They will enjoy breakfast each morning, complimentary gift baskets and a $100 Discover gift card to defray their travel expenses.

We want to congratulate the winners of this past Sunday’s giveaways. Matt Morris was the winner of our $50 gift card to Bonefish Grill, and Ashleigh Fiocchi was the winner of our $50 Salon gift certificate to Avail Salon. Not only did we have two new winners, but more of you entered to win our two getaway trips that we will be giving away this Sunday.

In conjunction with equipping everyone with the series “Once Upon A Marriage” we also want to invest in the married couples this Sunday in a tangible way. So get ready to have a great Sunday and possibly go on a great trip!

This Sunday will also be Friend Day. All that means is that you should diligently pray for God to give you the opportunity to invite and bring some friends with you to church. We want to break all previous attendance records, and with your prayerful pro-activity we know we can do it!

Sunday Giveaways

During the “Once Upon A Marriage” series we decided to raise the stakes a little. Since it is February, and a time when “love” is in the air, we want to help encourage our couples in anyway we can. One way we are doing this is by giving away some prize packages each Sunday. If you are here on any given Sunday during February and you fill out one of our giveaway cards, you have the opportunity to have your name drawn the following week. You must be present to win, which gives you extra incentive to come back the following week. You don’t have to be married to win the prizes between now and the 19th.

As a matter of fact, we want to congratulate this week’s winners, Barbara Rush and Emerson Yadon. Barbara won a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure from Retreat Day Spa, and Emerson won a $50 Fandango prize.

We hope to see you this Sunday as we talk about another Old Testament marriage and see what we can learn from Abraham and Sara.

Volunteer Position – Resource Center Team Leader

The Resource Center leader has the perfect opportunity to be a micro store manager. Duties include recruiting, training, and scheduling volunteers, setting up displays for CD albums, coffee and books, inventory, and ordering. As the Resource leader, you will attend quarterly meetings with the other Hospitality team leaders for fellowship, information, and strategic planning for ways to better serve In Focus Church.

Volunteer Position – Nursery Volunteer

This is your opportunity to love on the little ones, ages birth to 4 years. Service involves holding and playing with babies, as well as cleaning the room and toys once the children are gone. The children ages two through four years also have a story and craft, as well as snack time. Volunteers are asked to serve once a month (or once every other month). We also ask that you fill out an application and the online background check application.

If you love babies and toddlers, this is a great area for you to serve. It is a joy to share the love of Jesus with these little ones!

Volunteer Position – Greeter Leader

What will you do to welcome our guests to an extraordinary experience? Inside our doors people hear the love of Christ. They will be invited to engage in life-changing relationships, particularly with a God who invites them to come “home”. What will you do to lay out the welcome mat as they enter your doors?

The Greeter Leader is primarily responsible for communicating, coordinating, recruiting, training and scheduling volunteers to lay out the “welcome mat” of In Focus Church. As the Greeter Leader you are part of the Hospitality Team and will attend quarterly meeting with other leaders for fellowship, information and strategic planning for ways to better serve In Focus Church.

Volunteer Position – KidFocus Volunteer

KidFocus has the opportunity for you to minister to His “little ones” on Sunday mornings in both the Lil’ K and the elementary age group. We believe that this is a genuine honor, to impart into the lives of children, as Jesus did, as He shared in Matthew 18:5 “Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.”

We are asking for a minimum of a once a month commitment, for a 6-month period, and a willingness to go through the required background check and training. You will not be disappointed, and make a lifetime positive impact in the lives of our children.
